FAQ
ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS ADDICTING?
Yes (well, the appearance of them at least). Even we were shocked by the fact that tiny synthetic hair fibres that are attached to our eyelashes with medical grade adhesive are in fact addicting.
CAN I APPLY EYELASH EXTENSIONS ON MYSELF?
Although the world of youtube likes to come up with a twists of DIYs (do it yourself) on applying the extensions on yourself at home, we highly do not recommend it.
This is your eyes health and safety; leave it to the professionals, please.
WILL EYELASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES?
When applied correctly, they will not cause any damage to your natural lash. However, picking, pulling and rubbing your eyelash extensions may lead to premature lash shed and can result in permanent damage to your natural lashes. Therefore, in addition to proper application by a professional, all clients are recommended to follow proper aftercare to promote the longevity of the lash extensions and ensure the integrity of the natural lashes.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT STYLES OF EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
There will never be two sets of eyelashes that will look identical. Extensions are personalized for each and every client based on their lash goals, their natural lashes and the type of extensions used. There are various lash shapes and 4 main styles of extensions:
CLASSIC: 1 to 1 application - a single extension is applied to each natural lash. Recommended for clients with a lot of full, healthy natural lashes.
HYBRID: a combination of classic application and volume application. Recommended for clients who wish to have the appearance of fuller lashes without the darkness of volume lashes.
VOLUME: A handmade fan of 2-5 extensions are applied to each natural lash. Great for all types of clients as the styles can be made both natural or dramatic.
MEGA-VOLUME: A handmade fan of 6 or more extensions are applied to each natural lash resulting in a very dark lash line (eyeliner effect) and the results are dramatic. Recommended for any client who is looking to add drama in their lashes and/or are going on lengthened vacations.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LASH LIFT AND EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
A lash lift only involves lifting your natural lashes into a curl that can last up to 4-6 weeks. It involves no additional coverage, length or fullness to the lashes, just a curl. Additional conditioning to the lashes can result in a more plumping effect.
Eyelash extensions involve the application of synthetic fibres to each natural lash using a medical grade adhesive. This results in fullness, coverage, and length to your lashes, however more upkeep is necessary if you choose to maintain it (2-4 weeks).
WHAT AFTERCARE DO I FOLLOW?
You can find our list of aftercare for each service by clicking on the link below.
CAN I WET MY LASHES OR BROWS AFTER AN APPOINTMENT?
For lash extensions: YES, we encourage it. Daily cleansing is super important not only for the extensions itself, but for proper hygiene for your eye's health.
For lash lifts & brow lamination: YES, but only after the 24h following the appointment time. Before the 24h is complete, we recommend you avoid water (showering, sweating, swimming, etc) as it lash or brow hair is still vulnerable and malleable to change.
DO YOU OFFER TRAINING?
Yes we do. You can find training information on our education page at the link below. Certificate will be made available upon successful course completion. More information on training can be found here.
HOW LONG IS TRAINING?
Introductory courses for both classic and volume are 1.5 days. The first day will be a half day and consists of theory and hands on practice. The second day will be a full day and will touch on theory review, hands on practice and live model practice. A certificate will be granted upon successful course completion. If JKO Luxe Beauty feels that there are still areas that need to be corrected, an additional half day may be granted.
Refresher courses for both classic and volume are 1 full day each. Previous proof of education on either of these two topics will be necessary for this type of course. Here we will eliminate bad habits, correct lashing techniques, work on business marketing plans as well as work on areas the student requires help with (i.e. with photo editing or legal documents, etc).
All courses come with ongoing support from the educator, Jenny, as she will also be available for any questions you have later down the line.
HOW SOON CAN I START WORKING AFTER TRAINING?
Once JKO Luxe Beauty feels you have completed the course successfully and has granted you with a certificate, you may start servicing clients immediately. We highly recommend practicing and servicing on many friends & family members first to get the ball rolling on your skills.
